Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 2026
Welcome to Escalate's Privacy Policy. We are an invite-only matchmaking service that introduces people by email — no app, no public profile, no algorithm. Because we operate with a small, curated community, we handle your data with care and share it only where absolutely necessary.
This Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it. If you have questions at any point, email us at hello@escalate.so.
1. Who We Are
Escalate is a private matchmaking service. When we refer to “Escalate,” “we,” “us,” or “our,” we mean the team operating this service. We are the data controller for all personal data you submit through this website.
Contact us at: hello@escalate.so
2. Data We Collect
We collect only what we need to provide the matchmaking service. There are two stages of data collection:
Data you provide at sign-up (invite check)
- Your email address — used to verify you are on the invite list.
Data you provide in the onboarding form
- Name and age
- Gender identity
- City and country
- Profession or occupation
- Answers to personality and lifestyle questions — including preferences, values, and short written responses. These are collected to help us understand who you are and who you might connect with.
- One public social profile URL (X / Twitter or LinkedIn) — so our team can get a fuller picture of you.
Data collected automatically
Like all websites, our hosting infrastructure may log standard technical data such as IP addresses and browser type for security and error monitoring purposes. We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the information you provide for the sole purpose of matchmaking:
- To verify your email address against our invite list before allowing access to the form.
- To review your profile and curate a thoughtful, human-reviewed match for you each week.
- To send you your weekly match introduction over email.
- To improve the quality of matches over time, based on feedback you voluntarily share with us.
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling for any purpose other than matchmaking, or sell it to any third party.
4. How We Share Your Data
Your data is seen only by the Escalate team and the specific person you are matched with (limited to what is shared in the introduction email). We do not publish profiles, sell data, or share it with third-party advertisers.
We use Supabase as our database provider. Data is stored securely and is subject to Supabase's data processing terms. No other third-party services receive your personal data.
5. Safety & Our Responsibility
Important: Escalate facilitates introductions between individuals. We are not responsible for the conduct, behaviour, or actions of any person you are matched with before, during, or after any interaction that takes place following an introduction. Always exercise caution and prioritise your personal safety when meeting someone new.
We take care in the curation process, but we cannot guarantee the accuracy of information provided by members, nor can we conduct background checks. We strongly encourage all members to:
- Meet for the first time in a public place and let someone you trust know where you are going.
- Trust your instincts. If something feels wrong, it probably is. Remove yourself from the situation.
- Never share financial information, home address, or other sensitive personal details with someone you have just met.
- Report concerns to us at hello@escalate.so — we take member safety seriously and will act on credible reports.
Escalate's liability is limited to the matchmaking introduction itself. All subsequent interactions between matched individuals are at their own discretion and responsibility.
6. Data Retention
We retain your profile data for as long as you are an active member of Escalate. If you request deletion of your data, we will remove your record from our database within 30 days.
We may retain certain minimal records (such as a record that your email was once registered) for up to 12 months after deletion for security and abuse-prevention purposes.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access — Request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction — Ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Deletion — Ask us to delete your data entirely.
- Portability — Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
- Objection — Object to certain types of processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@escalate.so. We will respond within 30 days.
8. Children's Privacy
Escalate is exclusively for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a minor has submitted data, we will delete it immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify active members by email. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
